Greetings all!
I am so excited to announce that I have gotten back on track with the podcast. I have some exciting interviews lined up with individuals who use art and other forms of creativity in their wellness.

In episode 12 I sat down with friend and artist Lindsay Grant. Lindsay has been coming to my studio and has been actively participating in our community for around 10 years. In this episode Lindsay and I explore many topics including art making, inspiration and dogs.

Lindsay has also been a part of EVERY AHLE creative summit and is participating in the Survivor Summit that has just started. Our applications are all in and information sessions with participants are occurring. Art making will begin in May. Watch our AHLE and studio Instagrams, as well as the AHLE and studio Facebook pages for updates!

I hope you enjoy this organic conversation!
Until next time!
Warmest wishes,
Beth Ann

Art Journal Prompt: One Word Prompt

4/5/2019

This month I am going to give you a list of words. Choose ONE and create a journal entry about it.
Do some stream of consciousness writing. Just let the words flow then shift gears and look for imagery that calls out to you after your writing.

Be kind to yourself. Maybe your journal entry is a response to your writing. Maybe the word you choose is your stepping off point. Explore collage materials, use mixed media (collage, paint, drawing materials, stencils, feathers...). Let your process happen, try not to get fixated on the product.

Remember to take breaks if you need to. Imagery and the process can bring a lot to the surface. When you have finished step back and be with your piece. You may choose to write again.  If you'd like to share your final piece EMAIL a JPEG and I will post it to inspire others. It's an honor to be here on your journey with you.
Warm wishes,
bas

Acknowledgements: It is with deep respect and gratitude that I acknowledge that I reside and work on the traditional homelands of the Cowlitz and Clackamas tribes. I acknowledge and honor with reverence those who have stewarded this land, through colonization, systemic racism, structural racism, and genocidal policies. Additionally, I hold in the highest esteem those who have been historically enslaved upon this land, as well as those who may have been excluded to this land due to race, national origin, citizenship, and ethnicity. I offer some of my art therapy services at no charge to those who's homelands I occupy. If this applies to you or someone you know and you'd like to find out more please contact me.
